Introduction

In July, 2018 the Board of Education approved changes to AUSD’s dress code policy. The revised policy was based on changes proposed by a work group and based on work by the Oregon chapter of the National Organization of Women.

This page contains links to the background for the committee's work, FAQs about the proposed changes, board presentations on the revisions, and other materials.

The policy is in a pilot phase for 2018-19. We will be collecting data on the implementation and effects of the new dress code throughout the year. That data will come via surveys to students, families, and staff and feedback from focus groups. Staff will present the data to the Board of Education in the fall and spring, and the Board will make its final recommendations next May.

You can find more information about the new policy in this "Introduction to AUSD's Revised Dress Code."
