Board Taking Public Comment on Beth Aney STEAM Lab at Otis Elementary School

At its May 24 meeting, the Board of Education publicly declared itsbeth aney headshot intent to name the Otis Elementary School STEAM Lab the "Beth Aney STEAM Lab."

 

Beth, who passed away in 2021, served as PTA Council president,  led the 2020 Measure A parcel tax campaign, and played an instrumental role in the creation of the STEAM lab at Otis. As such, the school community and Beth’s family wish to honor her memory and contributions through this process. 

 

The Board will take action to formally approve the naming at its June 28 meeting. Members of the community may comment on the proposed naming by emailing dkrueger@alamedaunified.org or by attending the Board’s June 28 meeting and providing public comment on the item.
