COVID-19 Guidelines for the Holidays
Posted 11/5/21

We know that families are likely to travel and gather in groups over the upcoming holidays. To reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection and transmission in our schools, we want to be sure that all families understand the current public health guidance on celebrations and travel. This guidance varies depending on the traveler’s vaccination status and medical conditions.
For vaccinated travelers, the CDC also recommends that travelers:

  • Follow all COVID-19 safety precautions while traveling
  • Monitor yourself for symptoms upon return.

For unvaccinated travelers, that guidance includes:

  • Avoiding travel
  • Getting tested 3-5 days after travel
  • Self-quarantining after travel for 7 days (with a test) or 10 days (without a test)

We hope that all of our families will be careful about COVID-19 over the upcoming holiday breaks. We know we have been coping with COVID-19 and its many inconveniences for many months now. But despite lower case rates and increasing vaccination rates, the county is still reporting “substantial transmission” of the virus and quite a few unvaccinated people. For the safety of all of our students, staff, and families, we ask that you continue to mask, avoid large gatherings, and stay home if you have symptoms.
