introduction

The global public health crisis presented by COVID-19 has impacted the learning and support services available to public school children around the world.  AUSD is deeply committed to supporting our students and families who receive special education services.

To the extent feasible and in line with health and safety, students with IEPs will continue to receive support through distance learning opportunities and tailored related support in the form of IEP contingency plans.  These will not be exact replicas of existing IEPs, due to the constraints under which we are all operating now, including shelter-in-place orders. Please be assured, however, that these contingency plans will only be in place during the current suspension of in-class instruction, and they are only in place now to protect your child's health and safety, as well as that of other students, staff, and families in our community.

We have created this page to serve as a hub for resources about special education plans and services during the COVID-19 public health crisis. Please check back often as we will be updating the page on a regular basis.
